Leah Buley is a principal analyst serving Customer Experience Professionals. She draws on 15 years of experience as a practitioner and thought leader in the user experience field to help Forrester clients learn not just why great experiences are important, but also how to create them. Her research topics include user experience, development of customer understanding, and experience strategy. She is based in San Francisco.
Previous Work Experience:
Leah's past work in user experience spans agencies, startups, and Fortune 100 companies. Prior to joining Forrester, Leah was a design strategist in the design innovation group at Intuit, a financial software company. At Intuit she led initiatives ranging from the reimagining of experiences to multichannel product design to internal transformational change addressing core design capabilities. Before Intuit, Leah was a lead experience designer at Adaptive Path, a pioneering user experience consultancy, working with clients in financial services, healthcare, social media, and consumer products.
Leah is the author of the book The User Experience Team of One: A Research and Design Survival Guide. In it she addresses how UX-minded individuals in organizations can work with their cross-functional colleagues to produce better experiences for customers. Leah writes and speaks regularly on this topic at conferences such as SXSW, UX Week, UX London, Agile, the IA Summit, and WebVisions.
Leah holds a bachelor's degree from Barnard College and a master's in library and information science from San Jose State University.
